ShapeMaterial Operator

The ShapeMaterial operator allows the user to change/add a material to any thinkingParticles shape object.

This feature is a very tricky one, as there is only one material per particle system available in 3ds max! thinkingParticles uses Multi/Sub Object materials to add the materials to the scene assigned by this operator.

 

 

 
 
Operator Inputs

ON - (Bool) This input data stream determines whether the operator is considered 'on' or 'off.' You can connect other operators to this input channel such as a Bool Helper to activate/deactivate the whole operator.

Time
- (Time) This input data stream is used to define the local time for the operator when the user wants to override the default system time.

Particle
- (Particle) This input data stream reads in the currently selected particle group to be used when painting the collision object. The data stream MUST be connected and will be highlighted yellow if it is not.

Material
- drag and drop or choose any material you want to assign to the particle shapes, connected to the Particle-IDS.
